Bitutainers are specially built shipping containers for the carriage of bulk bitumen (also known as asphalt or tar). Bitumen is heated and, once liquid, is pumped into the bitutainers. The bitutainers are equipped with heating pipes so that on arrival at destination the bitumen can again be heated ready for removal and use.
