Brigde Energy & Transportation LTD was formally established in 1982 as a family business with only a handful of trucks. The aim was to be the main provider to the service haulage industry of East Africa. Today the company has built a reputable brand and is undoubtedly one of the largest private transport and logistics services in East Africa.
The company was initially conceived in the early 1990’s, from a small residential yard in the South C area of Nairobi. The owners, 3 young friends, landed their first 'contract' for the movement of an array of agricultural produce for export from Uganda to the Port of Mombasa, along with an assortment of other products from Nairobi to various destinations within Kenya.
The truck enthusiasts, started with 3 brand new Leyland bodied trucks and worked hard to build the business well into the 1980’s until acknowledging there was a need to fill a void in the bulk haulage industry of East Africa, with particular focus on Petroleum Products.
Having identified the need in this niche market, the promoters thereafter embarked upon an ambitious and progressive growth plan which included the formation of Brigde Energy & Transportation LTD (a limited liability Company) which was set up and established in late August 1990. Today, the company is a formidable force with, undisputedly, the largest privately owned fleet within Africa. It has a territorial presence in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania & Rwanda and covers nearly 50 million kilometres annually, employing some 2,000 dedicated and committed individuals.
